Declaring your Baby’s Name

We love describing the meaning behind each baby’s name, each as unique as the baby and each story behind the name evoking a shared memory. The description often brings a smile to the congregation as they remember a loved member of the family, or a favourite song writer or a name reflecting the couples heritage and culture.

As part of the ceremony, wishes and pledges may be declared aloud for the baby, or indeed written and decoratively pinned to a wishing tree. A time capsule may also be created, including some pictures of the baby, a naming ceremony certificate, a note from Dad or from a close family member, a tiny painted hand or foot prints or perhaps some newspaper clippings from the day the baby was born.
