02 Dec It’s our 5th Birthday!!
We are celebrating our 5th birthday at Coastal Ceremonies! Five whole years of life infusing celebrations with the most fantastic of couples and families. How lucky we are to call them our friends. We are also lucky enough to work with brilliant wedding suppliers, all of whom make going to ‘work’ even more fun. To you funny and kind professionals; photographers, videographers, caterers, drivers, harpists, florists, hair and makeup artists, event coordinators, artists and musicians, we salute you.
What an absolute joy it is to work alongside you, together summoning ‘the human spirit’ to help create magical memories for those who book us for their ceremonies. We have so many highlights to celebrate that we need our very own episode of ‘Reeling in the Years’! Maybe we’ll just put the kettle on, blow out the candles and enjoy a little reflection (ha!)

Some of our many celebration highlights of the past year include:
- Orla qualifying as a funeral celebrant.
- Clara featuring in the Irish Independent talking about her celebrant journey.
- Officiating our first of many milestone ceremonies.
- Clara speaking on the Sean Moncrief radio show about milestone ceremonies.
- Susan creating exciting new Wedding and Vow Renewal packages in Ballyportry and Thoor Ballylee. (With more exciting offerings to come)
- Partnering with Hometree Charity to pledge a tree for every ceremony booked with us. Since we started the initiative we have pledged over 170 trees at the Hometree Charity Site.
- And the main highlight is celebrating the many wedding, vow renewals, elopements, baby naming and milestone ceremonies with fantastic people.
We love what we do. Each ceremony is so different but they are all ‘infused’ with joy, love and emotion. We love the unexpected things that happen and we celebrate rolling with the challenges! Not even flooded roads and cows moving fields can stop our couples saying ‘I do’. But that’s a whole other story and we’ll definitely need more cake! We sometimes get to ‘bring our husbands to work’ either as guests or as unofficial videographers. Who says you can’t mix business with pleasure?!
We have officiated ceremonies in Irish heatwaves (pass the sun cream) howling wind (mind those glasses) lashing rain (my hair!). We celebrate in marquees, on the sides of cliffs and in beautiful hotels. We hold sacred space in family sitting rooms, in castle gardens and in modernised barns. If you have a vision, well, we certainly can ‘summon the human spirit’, with ‘passion and purpose’.
We love our jobs and sometimes during a ceremony we have to pinch ourselves that this is our actual job. We are so excited to be celebrating 5 years in business and are really looking forward to many more years of fun, love, laughs and craic. It is so lovely to reflect upon five years and think about the experiences we have gathered, evident in the many kind referrals we are enjoying, and the honest testimonials of those with whom we have had the pleasure to work.
So thank you. To all of our wonderful couples, families, wedding suppliers, friends, family, kids and husbands for your unwavering support, love and encouragement. Now, to have cream or ice cream with that cake?!
