Celebrants for every occasion. . .

We love our jobs

It is not often you can really say that you love your job.  Hand on heart, we all love being wedding celebrants. We love meeting couples to plan their ceremonies, we love hearing the most romantic and funniest engagement stories, we love telling stories and we love family celebrations so therefore we feel really lucky to work as celebrants.  To be part of someone’s special day and helping couple’s create lasting memories is an honour and to see couples saying “I do” at the end of the ceremony is literally the “icing on the cake”.

It’s all about You

Our role as accredited wedding celebrants is to ensure your ceremony reflects you both as a couple, after all it’s all about you and should reflect your own personalities and belief systems. We can officiate at non religious, semi-religious or mixed faith ceremonies. We can help you bring your ideas and vision to life and create a symbolic ceremony that you and your guests will never forget.

Crafting the perfect ceremony

The ceremony is the most important part of the day. We find people often forget that while planning their wedding.  We tell couples how important it is to hit the right tone from the start.   To craft the perfect ceremony, the consultation with your celebrant is key.  This is where the celebrant asks a series of questions about your ideas, your thoughts, your music and reading choices, your wedding party, your processional and so on.  It is a very detailed chat, ideally done in person or via video chat.  That’s when each couples ideas and wishes are put on the table and the celebrant then incorporates them in to the ceremony.  For us in Coastal Ceremonies, it’s the most important part of the process, and ensures the couple’s ceremony is personal, meaningful or memorable.

Celebrant resources

Our “speciality” is all things ceremony related so we have so many resources for you to use.  We have over 30 pages of incredible readings, song lyrics and poetry so you won’t have any issues choosing the perfect reading for your ceremony.  We advise on writing or personalising your vows, and we have a wealth of experience about music and where it fits best in to your ceremony.  We love music and have many suggestions too on music choices and even have our own Coastal Ceremonies Spotify playlist.  We have experience performing ceremony enhancements such as hand fasting, unity candle ceremonies and sand ceremonies which add a unique and unforgettable element to your ceremony and we will discuss each of these with you.

Creating your ceremony script

After the consultation with each couple, we create and write the script for you.  We send you a draft to ensure we have all of the details correct; names of bridal party, readings, music choices, wedding suppliers and the details of the ceremony enhancements we have agreed to include.  We don’t send you the script word for word, as we like couples to hear some parts of it for the first time on the day.  But don’t worry, there are no “surprises”. Each couples answers questions about their partner and sends them to us and we love sharing those answers on the day.  They bring a lot of laughter and sometimes tears (the good kind).

The Wild Atlantic Way

We are incredibly lucky to live so close to the sea.  We spend a lot of our time officiating ceremonies in the Cliffs of Moher, or Loop Head and in castles, ancient ruins and even lake side gardens.  We also get to work in the most incredible venues like Hotel Doolin and Dromoland Castle, and alongside some of the best wedding suppliers.

The relationship with each couple doesn’t start on the day of the wedding but many months before so we are so invested by the time the wedding day comes around that it is quite emotional watching the couple say “I do” to each other.

We are planting trees for you!

For every ceremony booked with Coastal Ceremonies we are planting two trees for you at the Hometree site in Ennistymon, Co. Clare. You can read more about this initiative here
